Text Following a Curved Line

This psp tutorial will show you how you get text to follow any shape you want.

Step 1

Open a new image
400 x 100
Transparent Background
16 Million Colors

Step 2
Click on your Draw Tool
.

Set your Foreground (stroke) colour to
black and your Background (Fill) colour to Null.

Click on the
Toggle Tool Options and set to
Freehand,
Width to 1
Antialias + Checked
Create as Vector = Checked
.

Draw a wavy line across your blank image.

Step 3

Change your "Stroke" colour to Null and your "Fill" colour to a colour of your choice. For this tutorial we will use red.

Click on your text tool and then move your cursor over the wavy line until your cursor turns into an "A" with a smile under it. When you see the smiling "A" click once.

Your text box will then open and you can go ahead and type whatever you like in it, using a font of your choice.

Make sure that Create as Vector is checked.

Step 4

Your text should now be following the curved line

If you don't need the "Wavy Line" beneath the text:

Click on your
Toggle Layers Palette and click on the + (plus) symbol beside Layer 2 .

This will turn it to a
- (minus) symbol.

Click on the
glasses in the Freehand layer to turn off that layer and go to Layers/Convert to Raster.

Step 5

Finish off your graphic. Merge the layers and Save As.
