  STEP 6

Select the Crop Tool.

Make a selection around your image and crop the image to size.

  STEP 7

You need to fill in the small portion between the friends as shown. This will make the blue shoulder look more realistic and get rid of the odd color in the background.

Apply a New Layer
Layers || New Raster Layer

Click on the Selection Tool and apply a Circle Style.

Make a small circle selection on the blue shoulder area.

Copy the selection to your clipboard. CTRL + C
Deselect the circle selection. CTRL + D
And then paste the circle as a new Selection. CTRL + E

Move the new selection into position and deselect. Keep repeating this step until you have the area almost covered.

You can finish off by selecting the Retouch Tool and pushing some blue color into the area.

  STEP 8

Click on the Freehand Lasso Tool and make a narrow selection around the area shown at right.

Apply a Gausian Blur to fade the edges into one another and make the colors less sharp. This again helps to make the merge more realistic.
