Shadow or Mirror Text
This
has got to be one of the best text effects that you can use in webdesign. The
shadow text or mirror text effect is quite easy to achieve as you will see in
this PSP tutorial.

STEP
1
Open a new image large enough to hold the text you want. 300 x 100
White Background 16 Million Colors
STEP
2
Add a New Layer Layers || New Raster Layer
Apply your text and
position the selection near the top of the image. For this tutorial we
will use Arial Round, 36 point. The effect will work on any style text, but does
work best on large chunky fonts. Fill = Solid Dark Color Foreground
Color = Null Floating = Checked Antialias = Checked
STEP
3 Deselect your text. Selections || Select None
Copy your text to your Clipboard.
Edit || Copy or CTRL + C
STEP
4
Add a New Layer Layers || New Raster Layer
Press CTRL
+ E to Paste
your text as a new selection. Click on Image
|| Flip Move your selection so that it is just touching the base
of the first layer of text.
STEP
5
Select
the Toggle
Layer Palette
and adjust the layer opacity to suit.

Here are
some TIPS for additional Effects to your Drop Shadow Text.
Go
back to Layer 1 and add some Drop Shadow or other Special Effects
and Filters like Cutout. (See list of Text Tutorials for instructions.)
With
your Shadow Layer and Text selected, click the Flood Fill Tool
and set your
Foreground Color Style to Linear Gradient and Flood Fill
the Shadow with a Gradient Filter.
This works great
on larger fonts and fades the shadow effect from the back to font.

Select
the Shadow Text with the Deformation Tool
and Drag out the Shadow Text to give it more body.
(Hold the Ctrl key
down while you drag with your mouse.)

Play
around with all the Effects and Filters to get the right look for you.
