How to make a rock text effect for images and website graphics

PSP Tutorial

Make your text look like if it has small rocks stuck to it with this PSP rock text tutorial.

ROCK TEXT

Step 1

Open a new image
200 x 100
White Background
16 Million Colors

Step 2

Select the Text Tool and type in some text. Choose a nice chunky, large font, of your choice.
Font = Impact
Size = 48
Background color = Grey
Antialias = Checked

Step 3

With text still selected, click
Selections || Modify || Feather
Set "Feather" to 2.

Step 4

With the text still selected, click
Effects || Noise || Add
Set noise to "50%" and check "Random"

Step 5

Make the image Greyscale then revert back to 16 Million Colors.

Colors || Grey Scale
Colors || Increase Color Depth || 16 Million Colors

Step 6

Change the background color to white.
With the text still selected, from the top line menu click;
Effects || Artistic Effects || Hot Wax Coating

If you want a bit of color to your image hit you keyboards Shift + U to RGB colorize

Red = 30, Green = 10, Blue = 0

Play around with the colors until you have something to suit your taste.

Deselect and Save As.
