How to create plastic textfig 1

This psp tutorial creates a great looking plastic text effect which can be used in webpage images, banners, logo's or any graphic design project. Make the plastic text any color you like.

Step 1

Open New Window
200 x 100
White Background
16 Million Colors

Step 2

Set Foreground color to White and the background color as close to the color of the background that you will use the text on. For example, this tutorial is on a white background so it will be set at white which will allow for the finished graphic to be transparent.

Click on the Text Tool and add some text. Font used here is Impact 36 Point

Add a Cutout Filter.
Effects || 3D Effects || Cutout

fig 4 Vertical -1 (this is minus one)
Horizontal -1 (this is minus one)
Opacity 100
Blur 5
Shadow color = Black
Uncheck fill interior
OK

Add an Emboss Filter
Effects || Texture Effects || Emboss

Select Colors and then click Colorize.
Hue 230
Saturation 255

Play around with the Hue setting. to get the color of your choice.

Add a little Drop Shadow to your taste.
Effects || 3D Effects || Drop Shadow

Shadow Color = Black
Opacity 100
Blur 10
Vertical 5
Horizontal 5
Select OK

Deselect Image and Save As.
