How to make outlined text for graphic projects

Give your text a great effect with this psp tutorial on making outlined text for webpage images. Simple to follow with screenshots. Outlined text effect makes great viewing on any webpage color background.

Step 1

Open a New Image
200 x 100
White Background
16 Million Colors

Step 2

Set the Foreground Color to White and the Background Color to Black, (or the color of your choice.)

Step 3

Select the Text Tool and Type some text.

Your choice of font style.

Uncheck Antialias.

Step 4

Save the text selection to Alpha Channel.
Selections || Save to Alpha Channel || Selection #1

Clear the Image. Delete

Step 5

Load the Image from Alpha Channel
Selections || Load From Alpha Channel || Selection #1

Feather the selection by 10 Pixels
Selections || Modify || Feather || 10 Pixels

Hit the Delete Key about 4 times.

Step 6

Load the Selection from the Alpha Channel again.

Selections || Load From Alpha Channel || Selection #1

Step 7

Change the background Color to White or whatever background you have made your image.

Feather the selection by around 4 Pixels
Selections || Modify || Feather || 4 Pixels

Hit the Delete Key until satisfied with the look.

Deselect the image and save as. Here is an image made with red text and one made on a black background.
