Instead of being the usual platformer, this game puts on Mario on a motobike where you as the player, steer him on to become the best motocross rider in a virtual world. Game design plan from a developers point of view

Note: This is not the design plan the developer of 'Super Mario Moto' used when making this online Flash game. It's merely a reverse-engineer of a game design plan based on my experiences as a player.

Super Mario Moto is a fun dirt bike game where you drive Mario on to be the best motobike rider in the world.

Scenario / World:


The game scenario is set on an offroad dirtbike track.

Mode:


 Single Player

Objectives:
Avoid stacks, collect coins and finish in the quickest time possible.

Characters:
As it is with all these games, the main playing character is the adorable Mario.

Audio / visual aesthetics:


The graphics are vector in style. Bold, with shading shown in colour rather than detail.

The midi sounding music is reminicent on the good ole Mario days.

The introductory screen gives the player 3 options:

  1. Play - starts the game
  2. More - takes the player to the developers website for more games
  3. Score - shows the top Internet player scores

The bottom toolbar displays the score, the level you are currently on, and the playing time left on the countdown.

The countdown timer starts at 100 seconds.
