Mario Ghosthouse is a platform game that will keep you entertained for hours on end. The game is set in a haunted house, where you need to help Mario collect all the coins, which in turn, will open hidden doors to the next world / level. The game starts with a generous 9 lives and your aim as the player, is to avoid colliding with the ghosts as you progress through the levels.

One of the quirks of this game that took a while for me to used to, is how the floor is often out of view below Mario. There is no way to tell if it is an endless pit or a lower floor, until you fall. For example, in the very start if you let Mario fall down off the ledge to the right, you will loose a life. However, in the second level, the only direction to take, is to fall off the ledge, where you safely land on a lower floor. Even though this inconsistency can be a little confusing at times, Mario Ghosthouse is still a fantastic game that is well worth the look.

Game design plan from a developers point of view

Note: This is not the design plan the developer of 'Mario Ghosthouse' used when making this online Flash game. It's merely a reverse-engineer of a game design plan based on my experiences as a player.

Audio / visual aesthetics:	This online Mario game is reminiscent of the Nintendo Mario versions. ie Mario looks exactly the same as he is in the Nintendo games. The graphics are pixilated in style. Music is also similar to all Mario games, whether online or offline. Players will automatically relate to the online version as soon as they see the graphics and hear the music.

The top toolbar displays total lives, overall score and countdown time limit. This platformer game gives the player a choice of moving left or right from the very beginning. Each room is different in design, although all graphically looking as though it's in the same haunted house.
Itemization of game rules:	Game starts with 9 lives and 999 seconds on the count down. Mario is a large size in the beginning, if he gets hit by a bad guy, he drops down in size. The next time he looses one life. Collect the coins to reveal the hidden doors and progress to the next world / level.
