Cinema Tycoon is a game where you as the player, get the chance to build up a cinema into the next entertainment mega complex. In this sim game you get to do everything a real cinema manager would do. For example, you're able to choose what movies your customers will watch, stock the snack bar, choose staff, pick from numerous marketing methods whether it be with flyers, newspaper or radio advertising, as well as setting ticket prices so you can upgrade equipment.
Players keep track of daily profits by viewing how many tickets they sold, minus the daily running costs. It's important to keep track of the customer satisfaction percentages as well, which can be seen on the left side of the game. If you look towards the bottom, you'll notice it shows you how much money you have banked. The point of the game is to bank as much profits as you can within 15 days, so you can move on to the next level.
Quick hints and tips on how to play the game - Cinema Tycoon Simulation
Pointing and clicking your mouse on the available options seen on screen, is basically all the controls you need for Cimema Tycoon. It's basically self explainatory, however you can click the 'Help' button seen in the lower left side. This can be turned off or on at will and is really helpful to guide you through the game if you're a beginner.

Introduction page displays numerous choices to turn the 'Help' and 'music' on or off, set the options and start the game.
The options button allows you to set the sound FX to minimum or maximum depending on your sound card.
Days performance including tickets sold, daily running costs, profits made and customer satisfaction is shown at all times on the left hand side.
Top graphical navigation gives the player easy access to advertising choices, films / movies, ticket prices, snack bar, staff team, upgrades and reports.
Along the bottom navigation is the day, days remaining in the level, daily running costs of the cinema and cash in the bank.
When the 'Help' option is turned on, there is a little animated avatar that talks you through the game.
If you pause the game (menu / pause), a very cool intermission graphic appears.

Click on films icon along the top navigation to choose a movie.
Once the movie starts playing, you don't have to wait patiently in real time until the day is over, you can fast track it any time by pressing the 'End Day' button on the lower right corner.
At the end of each day, check daily news for important information that may help you with your success.
Click the 'Hype' icon in the top navigation to market your cinema and gain more customers.
Increase movie tickets especially on weekends to help with profit margins.
As the cash in the bank increases, upgrade to better projectors, seats, snack bar, screens, sound systems and advertising methods.
