skullicious gameGame design plan

Shown below is an example of how to make a design plan if you wanted to create a scary game similar to 'Skullicious'.

Please Note: This game design plan is merely a reverse-engineer of my experiences as a player.

Title: Skullicious

Developers: Ice Flass

One sentence description: A scary game where the player needs to hold the skull in the air for as long as possible without dropping it.

Scenario / World: Similar to many scary games, the scenario is set in a graveyard.

Mode:Single Player

Objectives: Use a series of mouse clicks to hold the skull in the air for as long as possible without dropping it.

Characters: The main character, if you can call it that, is the skull that you need to keep off the ground. As you'd expect, it looks like a white skull.

Audio / visual aesthetics:

Genre(s): Action

Possible Target Audience: Anyone who likes quick mindless games, which can be fun :)

Itemization of game elements:

The introduction has 3 options:

  1. Play Game
  2. About the game - which really is pointless as it simply tells you who developed the game. You can already see this clearly by their logo on the bottom right of the game.
  3. Play more games - takes you to the developers web site. A practice highly recommended for game developers.

Once the scary game starts you see a skull bouncing around that you need to keep off the ground by clicking on it constantly.

The bottom GUI (graphical user interface) displays the players score, as well as a link to submit score (even before you start which is strange), and an option to turn the music on or off.
