Tip: Gold text is great to use on website award badges. What better way is there to show someone you enjoyed visiting their website, than with a gold award.

Gold Text
This is a
great psp tutorial on making a gold text image. Looks terrific on darker
backgrounds!

Gold
text looks great on banners and as headings on darker colored backgrounds. Here
is an easy way to make your text look like the professionals. Step
1
Create
a new image, 200 x 100, 16 million colours, any color background.
Step 2

Select the "text tool"
and click on the new image.
Type in some text.
Choose the font of your choice. Larger is better.
Set the font color to medium grey #C0C0C0.
Click OK.
DO NOT clear the selection marquee or "marching ants" from the
text as you need the text selected to apply effects.
Step 3
You now apply 2 Cutout filters to the text. One white and one black, as
below;
Click "Effects", "3D Effects", "Cutout"
Set vertical to 2
Set horizontal to 2
Set Opacity to100
Set blur to 2
Set Shadow Colour to White
Set Fill Interior with colour to OFF (Uncheck)

Repeat "Cutout filter" with settings as below
Set Vertical to -2
Set horizontal to -2
Set Opacity to 100
Set Blur to 2
Set Shadow Colour to Black
Set Fill Interior with colour to OFF (Uncheck)
Step
4
You now apply a Hot Wax Coating to the text.
Set PSP background color to white.

Click Effects> Artistic Effects>Hot Wax Coating
Step 5
To finish, you apply the gold color to the text.

Press your keyboards "Shift and U" keys. This will bring
up the RGB selector as show right.
Set Red to 80
Green to 60.
Blue to 0
(You can play around with the RGB color to get it to suit your needs.
Reapeating the RGB color more than once gives a brighter gold effect.
See example below)
Click ok.
Step 6

De-select your text,
(Selections/Select none)
Save As.
Same image with RGB color added 3 times
