How to make gold chain images

This psp tutorial shows the easy way to make gold chain graphics by simply utilizing a font character.

Step 1

Open a New Image

200 x 200
Transparent Background
16 Million Colors

Step 2

Add a New Layer

Layers || New Raster Layer

Step 3

Select the Text Tool and choose a font with a curved look.

You need to type a small caps x. Settings used in this tutorial. Font = Westminster
Size = 26
Fill Color = #ECC674

Step 4

Apply a Sculpture Filter

Effects || Texture Effects || Sculpture

Presets = Gold
Pattern = 1
Size = 100
Smoothness = 10
Depth = 3
Ambience = 0
Light = White
Shininess = 46
Angle = 315
Intensity = 30
Elevation = 56

Step 5

Deselect your graphic (The x)

Select Layers And Duplicate the layer so that another "x" is placed on top of the existing one.

Layers || Duplicate.

Step 6

Click the Magnifying Tool and Zoom in to make the remaining steps easier.

Step 7

Click the Mover Tool and pull off the top "x" and position it below the first "x".

Keep repeating this step, Layers || Duplicate || Pull Off || Position, until you have a small chain created.

Step 8

Zoom back to normal size and merge only the "x's".

View || Normal Viewing

Layers || Merge || Merge Visible

Step 9

Select the Crop Tool and Draw around the image to required size.

Select the Toggle Tool Opions and crop the image to size.

Step 10

You now have an image of a chain that you can use on graphics. I would strongly suggest that you save this image as a PSP Picture Tube for later use.

Go to File || Export || Picture Tube

Name your tube and click OK
