Handy
Tip: When
creating a cutout text effect in Corel Paint Shop Pro, it's more
effective if used on a colored background. This way the drop shadow
really stands out more than if it was created on a white background.

CUT
OUT 3D TEXT EFFECT
Here are basic psp tutorial
rules to give text a cutout look for website graphics and headline banners.
This effect looks much better applied to a colored background.
Apply 3D Cutout Filter to your choice of text as below:

Effects>3D Effects>Cutout Horizontal = 2 Vertical = 2 Opacity
= 100
Blur = 0
Shadow Color = White Fill Interior with Color = Not
Checked Re-apply the Cutout Filter with the following settings.

Horizontal = -2 (minus 2) Vertical = -2 Opacity = 100 Blur = 0
Shadow Color = Black Fill Interior with Color = Not Checked
You will note that the first application of the filter places the whiteness to
the top of the text. The second application places the blackness on the bottom.
This helps to give the "Cutout Effect". Finally
you add a small amount of Drop Shadow to your Text. Do not overdo the application
of drop shadow. These are the recommended settings:

Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow Horizontal = 1 Vertical = 1
Opacity = 100 Blur = 0 Shadow Color = Black
Looks even
better on a colored background!
