Handy Tip: To hide the Selections marquee, choose Selections > Hide Marquee, or press CTRL+SHIFT+M You can also toggle the marquee back the same way. The selection then remains active even if the marquee (marching ants) is hidden.

STEP 7

Change the Color Palette Foreground Color from Gradient to Solid Color. Set the Background color to Black.


Step 8

Right click on your image to spray some dark clouds around the sky. Left click to spray some white clouds. Let your creative talents flow, overlapping clouds, making large clouds and small clouds. Clicking twice on some clouds will make them darker.

When you are satisfied with your cloud formation, you can use the Layer Palette opacity slide bar to lighten the clouds if required. You could even apply a light Gaussian Blur to soften the clouds.

STEP 9

Merge the layers and then add a New Raster Layer.


STEP 10

Select the Draw Tool and apply the settings.

 

STEP 11

Starting at roughly the center of the cloud bank, draw white triangular lines down the image as shown.

STEP 12

Apply a Guasian Blur Filter

Effects || Blur || Gaussian Blur

Radius = 4.7


STEP 13

Click on the Toggle Layers Palette and change the Layer Blend Mode from Normal to Dodge.

Slide the Opacity bar to around 50% to give the image a great "Sunrays" look.

You are done.
