Handy Tip: When you want to start drawing your shape at a point that will be its center, click on the right mouse button to draw the shape. When your shape is complete, the point where you started the drawing is at its exact center!

MAKING CLOUDS FROM BRUSHES

Here's a way to make clouds that look fairly realistic that you can use in your graphics, but more importantly, show you that by playing around with different features that PSP possess, your creative talents can really show.

This is a 2 part tutorial to facilitate page loading times. Extensive screenshots have been used to support the step by step instructions.

STEP 1

Open a New Image. Make it fairly large so you have plenty of room to work with.
400 x 300
White Background
16 Million Colors

STEP 2

Select the Flood Fill Tool

Set the Color Palette's Foreground Color to White and the Background Color to Blue or whatever color you would like the sky to be.

 

STEP 3

Click on the Styles Selector and choose Gradient Style

STEP 4

Apply the Sunburst Gradient to the settings as shown.

Flood Fill your image.

 

STEP 5

Add a New Layer

Layers || New Raster Layer

 

STEP 6

Select the Paint Brush Tool and click on the Toggle Tool Options Window.

Click on Brush Types and select Custom.

From the Custom Drop Down List, select the Cloud preset shape.

When applying the Cloud shapes, vary the opacity and size to suit. You will get the hang of this as you go along. Experiment to get exactly what you like.
