PSP Tutorial. Carved Wood Text.
An
easy to follow tutorial how to make carved wood text graphics that look like the
real thing. Extensive screen shots have been used so the novice Paint Shop Pro
user will have no problems following the tutorial. The carved wood effect looks
great when integrated into webpage images.
Step
1
Open
a New Image 350
x 50 White Background 16 Million Colors
Step

Select the
Flood Fill
Tool then
click on the Toggle
Tool Options.
Blend
Mode = Normal
Match Mode = RGB Value
Tolerance = 200
Opacity = 100
Sample Merged = Checked
Step

Set the Styles
to Pattern and choose Pine.
(Click the small arrow in the box and a tool bar will popup, run your
mouse over the images and a description of each tool is shown. Click on
Pattern and a Drop Down will appear. Scroll the selection of Pattern Styles
and choose a wood grain. The Example is using the Pine Pattern.)
Flood
Fill your image.
Step
4 Click
on the Text
Tool and enter in your
required text. Do not deselect your text

Click on

Colors || Adjust || Brightness/Contrast
Set To:
Brightness = Minus -25
Contrast = 0
Step
6 Add a little drop shadow Effects || 3D Effects
Vertical = 1 Horizontal = 1 Opacity = 100 Blur = 0 Color = White
Step 7 Add a Cutout Filter
Effects || 3D Effects || Cutout Vertical = 2 Horizontal = 2
Color = Black Opacity = 100 Blur = 0 Fill Interior = Unchecked
Deselect your text and Save As.
