Online tool for resizing images

I came across a handy tool today called ResizR, perfect for quickly resizing an image. This online webtool is easy to use and very efficient. ResizR allows you to browse a photograph or image stored on your computer or you can type in the url to the graphic. After choosing an image width you can then rotate it if needed before resizing and saving the finished picture to your hard drive.

On the news page, they mention on September 6th they had 4000 images resized overnight. Such a simple tool, yet so popular. This is a great lesson for all those programmers who argue that there is nothing left to code. Maybe it's a good idea to look at professional software like Photoshop and see what parts people use most often. Then make a simple to use script based on those findings. For example, not everyone has use for a full blown graphics editor if all they need to do is resize an image ;)
