How to crop images and photographs to specified (fixed) print sizes
When you resize an image in Adobe Photoshop, often you can't change both width and height without one effecting the other. Yes, you can click on Image / Image size, and untick contrain proportions. However this usually results in a photograph that looks distorted. A solution to this problem is to crop to a specified size using Photoshop crop tool.
How to crop to a specified size?
1. Choose the crop tool on the left hand side toolbar.

2. Now along the top toolbar, type in a width and height in inches. Just like the example in the image above.
3. Now click and drag out the crop marquee on your photograph. The proportions will remain fixed to the ratio you typed in the width and height.
4. Double click on your image within the crop marquee to cut off the edges.
You now have a photograph ready for printing.
