How to shut down your MAC on the odd occasion that it locks up
Only once in the last couple of months has my Macintosh computer locked up or frozen on me. Mind you, it was totally my own fault, but it does happen from time to time. On my desktop PC I always knew to hit Ctrl Alt Delete to close down any software that isn't responding.
On a MAC, you need to press the command, control and power button simultaneously. This will force your MAC to restart. However, it won't give you any options to save work previously unsaved.
If you have work open that you want to save, try these keyboard shortcuts:
For desktops: command + option + control + eject
For laptops: command + option + control + power
Note, in the shortcuts above don't type in the + symbols. They are only referrences meaning, 'as well as'.
