Firefox fix unstable crashing on MAC OS X Snow Leopard

Firefox browser unstable and crashes after installing MAC OS X Snow Leopard - Fix / Solution

After upgrading to MAC OS X Snow Leopard, I found an earlier version of Firefox browser was unstable and crashing midway through loading pages, especially those that had applets or Flash. By 'crashing' I mean it simply closed down all of a sudden, with no warning.

How to fix this problem

To fix the unstability, I installed version 3.5.3 which you can find at: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/3.5.3-candidates/

Navigate your way through the folders to MAC/en-US (presuming you want English), where you can download the dmg file for version 3.5.3.

You'll notice there are other languages and operating systems available as well.

Once you install the newer Firefox, I also recommend downloading the latest Flash Player 10, Universal Binary for MACS: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

After installing these 2 updates (Firefox 3.5.3 + Flash Player 10) I've never had the browser shut itself down unexpectedly since.
