Making Bordered Bevelled Text for Banners and images

This Corel PSP tutorial explains the steps involved to make bevelled text which looks great for banners and headline graphics. A 2 part tutorial, extensive screenshots have been used for easy to follow instructions.

STEP 1

Open up a new image.
300 x 150
White Background
16 Million Colors

STEP 2

Add a New Raster Layer
Layers || New Raster Layer

Name the New Layer "Gold Text" or any name you like.

STEP 3

Select the Text Tool and apply your text.

Large Font (Impact)
Stroke = Null
Fill = Solid Grey
Antialias = Checked
Floating = Checked

STEP 4

Save the selection to the Alpha Channel
Selections || Save to Alpha Channel || Selection #1 || OK

STEP 5

Contract the selection.
Selections || Modify || Contract || 3 Pixels || OK

STEP 6

Hit the Delete Key to remove the contents of the selection and deselect the selection.
Selections || Select None

STEP 7

Apply a Gold Sculpture Effect.

Effects || Texture Effects || Sculpture


Preset = Gold
Size = 100
Smoothness = 10
Depth = 3
Ambience = 0
Shininess = 46
Color = White
Angle = 315
Intensity = 30
Elevation = 56
